recently, the tie-in platform of saudi arabian oil company (aramco)’s marjan project, contracted by cooec, has been successfully capped, marking the critical progress of the construction of the largest saudi aramco offshore platform in china.
the capped tie-in platform is an eight-leg platform that has a floating weight of approximately 20,000 tons and is used to connect important production and transportation facilities in the oil field. the platform pipelines have complex types and require a large workload. the maximum pipe diameter is 48 inches, and including a large number of composite alloys pipes and fusion-bonded epoxy (fbe) internal coating pipes for corrosion protection. as one of the general contractors of the consortium, cooec is responsible for land construction and ship loading of the platform.
since october 2021, the project team has made full use of advanced technologies such as information technology and digitalization, and independently developed a visual intelligent management platform, significantly improving the efficiency of project control. the marjan project has maintained the top-ranking position in the weekly progress chart among the four construction sites worldwide for several consecutive months.
